Birth Certificate

We are in partnership with the Florida Department of Health and Bureau of Vital Statistics. Certified copies of birth certificates dating back to 1930, from all counties within the State of Florida may now be obtained at our Main and Sebastian Offices.

Since birth records are required for obtaining or renewing Florida driver’s licenses and State Identification cards, the partnership between the Tax Collectors Office of Indian River County and the Florida Department of Health makes this process easier by consolidating services and allowing residents to complete both transactions at the same office and substantially improve our service to the public. The fee for the first certificate is $18.25 and $10.00 for each additional copy. Requirements to obtain a birth certificate are outlined below. No phone or mail application requests are permitted.

If you were not born in Florida and need additional information on how to order a birth certificate from another state, visit the National Center for Health Statistics.
