Legislative changes effective 7/1/2016:
Concealed Weapon License changes:
Senate Bill 722 – will allow Tax Collector offices to print and deliver a concealed weapon renewal license to a licensee renewing at the Tax Collector’s Office. Your local Tax Collector’s office will begin performing the printing of your license immediately upon the printer installation by the Department of Agriculture. The bill also decreased license fees by $10.00 for new applications and renewals.

HB 427, Law reduces state vessel registration fees for recreational vessels equipped with an Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon ("Beacon"), or for recreational vessels where the owner owns a Personal Beacon. The Beacon must be registered with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in order for the owner to qualify for the reduced registration fee. A person who owns a Beacon and more than one recreational vessel qualifies to pay the reduced fee for only one of their vessels. The reduced registration certificate fees provided in the bill apply to applicable vessels registered in Fiscal Year 2016-2017, between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017 only (DHSMV currently developing the procedure and forms).
SB 158, Law requires the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) to notate on the identification card or driver license the applicant’s status as a lifetime freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, hunting, or sportsman licensee, or lifetime boater safety identification card holder issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).Effective 7/1/16 (will not be implemented until 2017 DL design change)
