Full Driver License services are provided at all three

Indian River County Tax Collector offices :

  • WEST Office - 1860 82nd Ave, Vero Beach
  • SEBASTIAN Office - 11610 U.S. Hwy 1, Sebastian
  • MAIN Office - 1800 27th Street - Bldg B, Vero Beach

Driver License services are provided

between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Indian River County Tax Collector is now providing full Driver License services (including road tests).  As as an agent for the State of Florida’s Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Tax Collector must follow their procedures set forth in the Florida State Statutes and Administrative Rules.

In order to assist the public, the Indian River County Tax Collector’s office is providing this general information regarding driver licenses.

"GATHER" your documents before visiting our office

 

  • As of January 1, 2010 Florida law requires more proof of a driver’s identity.  The new rules are  part of the Federal Real ID Act of 2005 by Congress out of concern for the security of our nation.

  • Those wishing to obtain a new license, legally change their name prior to their renewal date, or immediately replace a lost or stolen license or ID card are required to visit a driver license office and show proof of identification, proof of social security number and proof of residential address.

"GO" to your local Tax Collector's office

  • The Indian River County Tax Collector’s office currently provides limited Driver License services to you. Note:  An additional $6.25 service fee is charged for services provided by the Tax Collector's office.

"GET" the following "limited" Driver License services*

  • Driver License and ID card (original & renewal, if testing is not required)

  • Transfer out-of-state Driver License to Florida Driver License

  • Replacement of Driver License

  • Name & address changes on Driver License

  • Add endorsements on Driver License (if test has already been completed)

* NOTE:  Currently, services available at the Indian River County Tax Collector's offices are for United States citizens.  In addition, testing and hazmat endorsements are not provided in any of the Indian River County Tax Collector's offices.
